Taylor's 1st Visit Back to the House
Report and transcribed by: Debra Pickman
On this investigation, we were a bit short handed, as Renae was unable to accommodate the last minute plans to the house. So, what was to be a re-connection of just the four of us (Jerry, Renae, Jennifer, and myself) after almost a year of incorporating guests into each investigation, turned out to be a very laid back and experimental evening.
In addition, and over the years, our son Taylor had felt that he had developed psychic powers and although he kept them quiet for a long time, he spoke to me briefly about them on a few occasions. Considering the nature of childhood imagination, I wasn’t sure how much credibility to put into his claim and we had not been afforded the opportunity to validate his claims in any way.
Taylor, who had been born in the house, was now 13 and had been excited for years about the prospect of returning to the house one day after hearing repeated stories about our experiences there. After speaking with the rest of the group, and weighing the pros and cons, we thought there would be no harm in his accompanying us for a few hours.
This was to be his first visit back to the house since he was 18 months old. Neither of us really had any expectations for this visit and in my cautious nature, and consideration of hormones and adolescent energy, the plan was that he would only stay for a few hours.
The only preparation I had given him before we got to the house was that if he got to feeling creepy, angry or otherwise weird at any time that he was to inform the closest adult immediately.
While Jerry set up various recoding equipment and Jennifer and I reviewed the most current information and discussed possibilities, Taylor, armed with a digital still camera and a voice recorder roamed the house for the first time since he was 18 months old.
He wandered for a while, took a few photos and did some of his own audio recordings while spending a while upstairs and out in the yard and then sat in the living room for the next hour or so, while Jerry’s friend Claudia visited with him and Jennifer and I went over some of the research
Earlier, Jerry had set up a television with static (although he said it was not an ITC set up). With the sound turned all the way down, It had been set up and running for a while.
About 2 hours into the visit, Taylor, asked to go home, as he was becoming quiet bored. I explained that I would finish what I was doing and that in about twenty minutes we would leave.
While waiting, Taylor sat down in front of the static television.
About 10-15 minutes later, he called my attention to the television and something strange. Although the rest of us couldn’t see anything he described what he though he was seeing as a movie on the television screen. At first, I thought it was his boredom and imagination that had let his mind run wild. After listening to him for five minutes or so, I found that what he was saying was very interesting. And although I was very skeptical, I also I realized that what he was “seeing” could be relevant (especially if he actually did have the psychic abilities that he had been claiming for so long). I began transcribing his every word and action to my laptop.
He went on to describe two people and told of how they were interacting and how it seemed to be set in the very living room he was standing in. In fact, he pointed out where the individuals were in the room and they were in the same general area that we were physically sitting in. He got up and began explaining where things, like furniture were and who was standing where.
Perhaps the static television was a sort of kick-start to getting his communication ability or deeper awareness of his surroundings started.
He continued to describe what he was seeing, and almost without a breath for close to 45 minutes. After about 20 minutes and while still transcribing, I began to realize that there wasn’t any way he could have made all this up. The details seemed to be remarkable; the time period, the people involved, the personalities, the furniture, the activity etc… was extremely detailed and seemed to coincide with much of what we had researched or deduced about certain individual spirits we feel we have come to know and who are integral in the detailed story of this house.
What follows should also be prefaced with the fact that Taylor had never been on an investigation prior to this and had limited knowledge to the topics and historical details we and other investigators have uncovered and discussed regarding the entities and personalities in the house.
