Instamatic Photos
Report by: Debra Pickman
Barbara arrived before any other photos were taken. We visited a while (please see the write up concerning “Barbara’s visit) and then went up to the nursery.
The next three photos were taken in the nursery during her visit. Photo #4 and #5 were taken of the corner of the nursery that Barbara determined was Sallie’s corner and where we might put some things especially for her. In fact in photo #4 Barbara said she could clearly make out the likeness of a little girl. A couple others thought they could see this, but the rest of us could detect nothing at all in the area being pointed out.
Photo #6 is a picture of Barbara in the nursery and seemingly very excited by the contact with this little spirit. #7 depicts us sitting in the living room a short time later. There seems to be a strange lighted area above the couch, however it didn’t seem significant at the time and could have been a reflection of some sort.
I must state that when these photos were first taken, over ten years ago, the significances of each photo were much more discernable. I regret not having protected them better over the years, because they have certainly faded over the years. Thanks to technologiy and the suggestion of someone with more forethought than I, they were recently scanned to protect what clarity is left.
Photo #8 is another of us conferring in the living room. Again nothing significant.
Up until this point, having gotten nothing significant in the way of blurs or lighted areas (except in photo #3), it seemed that what were we seeing in the photos from the first package of film may have been attributed to a bad package of film. It was however, after Barbara left we had two more picture to take.
Tony’s parents had arrived and his mom was holding Taylor. Photo #9 is taken at this time but nothing was noted in it. The last photo, #10, was taken of his mom cuddling the baby tenderly. Upon development of this photo, a strange band of color, similar to a rainbow, could be distinctly seen on the lower portion of her blouse. In addition, there is a significant blur over her left shoulder, close to the baby’s head. Perhaps the little spirit was supervising.
Our assessment, after the informative interview with Barbara and reviewing the photographs along with the circumstances under which each of them were taken, was that this little spirit felt a part of the family and liked to be in the pictures taken of Taylor. We also assumed that her proximity may have been associated with her desire to protect the baby from those close to him. We felt that she was comfortable with Greg and didn’t feel the need to be close to, or protective of the baby. When others were near him however, she made her presence much more distinct.
