Report by Jerry Talbert (continued):
We had all gathered around the table in the living room to see if the psychic's could get any information about the house or Johanna. In front of all of us, Tony's arm began to have streaks of blood trickling down.
Moments later I watched as another mark appeared on his face and began bleeding. That is when I told everyone to look at his face. We took pictures instantly and they look very interesting. My pictures taken with a disposable camera showed blackness around Tony. Was that some form of energy trying to tap into Tony? Or was this perhaps the perpetrator? Or was this spent energy leaving Tony like smoke from a gun after it has fired a bullet?
What more could we expect? It was now 9 p.m.
I started another experiment; this one meant playing pink noise while I record. We all headed upstairs into the main bedroom and sat there asking questions. While we were up there we heard a thunderous sound that shook the floor where we were sitting. I ran downstairs with Danny thinking it was one of my cameras falling over or some monitor exploding, but all we found was a helium balloon that was now flat. Then someone went into the downstairs bathroom and was overcome by the stench of sulfur. Another event had just taken place. The odor was never smelled before or ever again in our two years at the Sallie House. Later we did find an article that we believe explained the loud boom that we had heard.
It was 12:30 a.m. when Danny was searching for his car keys that he located a coin laying on the carpet. It was a British penny from 1862, the year that Johanna Barnes was born. It became apparent to us that the loud boom that we had heard was probably a report when the coin came slamming into our universe.
This wasn't the first time that an object came out of nowhere. A couple of months earlier, a nail from the 1800s had hit Jennifer in the knee while she was walking through the master bedroom.
Danny left, and the rest of us went upstairs once again to see if we could make contact with Johanna Barnes. As we huddled around the candle that was on the floor, someone asked Johanna if she wanted a priest. Tony jumped back from the Indian-style position he was in and laid flat on the floor. He reported feeling a distinct electrical charge in the area of his abdomen. Debra looked closely and noted slightly singed hair in the area, but no burn or significantly distinct marks. The following day a slight redness had appeared in the same area, however it was not documented. It was now 1 a.m.
Tony had enough excitement for the day and casually said goodnight to everyone before returning home. Within 30 minutes, Debra had followed Tony's example.
As morning approached, we took a brief nap so we could stay awake for the drive home. That ended our night's stay at the Sallie House. During the chaos of the coin appearing and the sulfur smell my son came up to me and said, "Dad how can you stand to do this stuff? Aren't you afraid?"
"No son. When you understand what is going on, there is nothing to be afraid of. It's only when you close your mind and live in the dark, so to speak, that the unknown appears frightening. Learn all you can learn and you will never be terrified of the dark again."
